The dollar strengthened further after Tuesday’s Swedish close, with the dollar index up to 98.4. US two- and ten-year yields rose by 2 basis points, while long-term bond yields continued to rise globally and the price of gold reached new record levels.
The spot price of gold is currently at $3,534 per ounce – equivalent to SEK 1,075 per gram – and is thus up 35 percent since the turn of the year, after price increases for seven trading days in a row.
